November ABW Update

The ladies of the American Baptist Ministries will be handing our doughnuts and coffee on Friday, November 11th before the Beckley Veterans Day Parade. They are asking for donations of doughnuts. They can be brought to the church either November 10th or first thing on November 11th. We do this to show our appreciation to those who have served in our country’s military and your help will be greatly appreciated.

The Lizzie Lewis Circle meets the first Thursday of every month at 12:15 p.m. here at the church and we have a great group of ladies. We are working on making new decorations for the Chrismon tree and have also started a new project called “Undie Sunday” which is the last Sunday of each month. We ask you to bring in children’s underwear and socks which will be donated to Helping Hands. We have a great time of fellowship and there is always food involved. We invite all women to join us.

ABW Continues to Work

Our ladies are continuing their two mission projects even though they are not meeting. They are collecting used postage stamps for one project. There is a container on the counter in the church office for these. The other project involves collecting quarters for Weirton Christian Center for their Quarters for Grades program. This program helps the Weirton Christian Center award their children for good grades which motivates the children to keep on the right track. These donations can be dropped off at the church office.

We are still collecting used postage stamps which we send off as part of one of our mission projects. The other project that we are involved in is at Weirton Christian Center. They have a Quarters for Grades program to help inspire the children to keep their grades up and we send them $100 at least twice a year.
